Flashing crosswalk signs were added at crosswalks without stop signs. Pedestrians push a button to activate the flashing lights to alert drivers to people crossing the street.

The Emergency Procedures Flip Chart for the campus. This resource provides critical information on for response to 15 emergency situations, including: Evacuation, Violence or Crime in Progress, Utility Failure, Active Shooter, Person in Distress, Suspicious Package/mail, Hazardous Material Incidents, Shelter-In Place: Hazardous Materials, Secure-In-Place: Police Activity, Evacuation of Persons with Disabilities, Access or Functional Needs, Blood Exposure and Medical Emergency, Bomb threat, Fire, Earthquake an Emergency Preparedness. 

Ergonomics Matching Funds

EH&S - Ergonomics 

The Matching Funds Program is applied to recommended and approved office ergonomic equipment for eligible UCR staff and faculty.  The program helps departments offset the cost of recommended office improvements.

Fall Protection

EH&S - Safety Engineer

Fall protection training and equipment are provided to applicable employees to prevent injuries. This includes harnesses, lift training, roof hazard protection and more.

To prevent injury, a trailer jack allows for easy maneuverability with little effort to move small trailers in the TAPS backlot.

All faculty, staff and graduate students who work in a lab are provided with lab coats and eye protection appropriate for their working environment. 

Heat Illness Prevention

EH&S - Safety Engineer

Cooling equipment and PPE were provided to employees who work in the steam tunnels and some mechanical rooms to comply with CA Title 8 3396 Heat Illness regulation. The funds will be used to buy fans, misting fans, and cooling vests.

Flammable Liquids Cabinets

To ensure the safe storage of fuel and other flammable items, a flammable liquids storage cabinet was installed in an outdoor workshop area.
